Full Job Description
Responsibilities and Accountabilities (WHAT)
· Work with federal and provincial safety and technical authorities to understand and develop compliance procedures for all pressure vessels utilized by the company and its affiliated agents and customers.
· Responsible for management of the company fleet, including maintenance, registrations, insurance, replacements, utilization, etc.
· Train field managers and employees, agents and customers as required to be compliant with external and internal training requirements.
· Develop and implement R&HSSE plans and procedures across the company.
· Lead compliance reviews, general risk assessments and other safety assessments.
· Partner with Operations Management to ensure execution of developed strategies in the areas of health, safety, security and environment.
· Ensure compliance with all employment laws, regulations, and polices, procedures and processes.
· Minimize risks through early identification, planning, and development of best possible strategies and management practices that focus on prevention of problems.
· Supports and monitor the company’s compliance standards and management systems.
· Effectively communicates the company’s safety culture and operating philosophies
· Ensure implementation of corporate incident management program. Review incident reports, investigations and resulting Corrective Action plans.
· Lead development and deployment of the company HSSE training and education program.
· Analyze HSSE statistics and report on trends and recommend actions to improve HSSE performance.
· Support Workers Compensation claims tracking, investigation and management process. Liaise with WCM on injury management and early return to work policy.
· Support compliance with HSSE record keeping requirements, including corporate and regulatory compliance program documentation.
· Coordinate with and participate in the HSSE audit/inspection program.
· Review incident investigations for completeness and follow up on corrective action to insure they are addressed in a timely manner.
· Perform project safety risk assessments and identify risk mitigation measures.
· Act as subject matter expert and lead for local, provincial and federal regulations.
Qualifications
· Completion of post-secondary degree in safety, engineering, science, business, or other relevant field of study; or equivalent education and experience.
· 5+ years of occupational HSSE work experience in the propane industry.
· Valid delivery and safety courses; PGAC, WHMIS, TDG
· Other designations, training and/or experience will be considered an asset.
